*SPAZZES*
Alright, so I've had a few major cosplays in my life. My very first cosplay was Sailor Moon from Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S (though I used the R wand. Lulz). That was back in the fourth grade; since then, I have grown and no longer properly fit in the costume... Plus, half the pieces are missing. I only have the fuku (which has a nifty red cape (*coughgraduationgowncough*)).
Funny story as to how I got a hold of the outfit. I was sitting at home one day, bored out of my mind... And my mom comes into the house and tells me she found something amazing. She pulls out of a bag the base of the Sailor Moon fuku (the white part with the skirt and bow only). She got it at a THRIFT STORE. I cried tears of joy.
My dad helped me make the tiara, the heart on the bow, and the tops of the ‘boots’. We bought the gloves somewhere. >.> Lol. The boots were actually red socks. And as for the cape… Well, the back of the skirt was kind of effed up, so Mom decided to give Sailor Moon a cape. If you remember from the early manga, SAILOR MOON HAD A CAPE! XD That’s my argument and I’m sticking to it! The wand I had gotten for Christmas (and you’ll notice it has tape around it…I was a rough child. XD) And you’ll see the shorts beneath because the skirt was a little short and I liked to run around and jump and play. ^^;;

The second ever cosplay I ever pulled off was Yuusuke Urameshi; my first crossplay and the cosplay I used the most out of all the ones I've had. I debuted this cosplay in summer of 2006. I've been a HUGE Yuu Yuu Hakusho fan and I LOVE Yuusuke (hence why my online name is Arekuzanra Urameshi // Ale Urameshi). Hell, if you were to go around and ask all the people who know me through cosplay, you'd usually just have to say 'Yuusuke' and they'd know who you were talking about.
I actually retired this cosplay once my hair started getting a little too long and because I would often dye my hair red. I just haven't been able to get a wig that I could use. I have two variations of the cosplay. The first version was a lighter green colored outfit with flower designs at the bottom of the pants. It was made of 100% silk and had no pockets. The second one was 100% Polyester and had (I believe) four pockets (two on the shirt, two on the pants, I think) and zipped up in the front rather than buttoned. I only wore the silk version, though, to cosplay events. The shoes I wore for the first few times were ordinary shoes, though I switched them out for my karate shoes as I moved on. I always used my natural hair for it and I would slick it back with gel and hair spray it. As my hair got longer, I would also put the back in a small ponytail.
Yuusuke UrameshiThe next one is Rikku from Final Fantasy X. I actually inherited her from my ‘wifeh’, Karinta24/Brookie, when she went on to cosplay Roxas from Kingdom Hearts II. I only wore Rikku to the Sunday of Anizona 3, in which I looked craptastic. The shirt was made from a turtle neck shirt, the sleeves cut off. The shorts were made from pants, cut up and added the frilly material. The boots were painted with fabric paint. The goggles were pool goggles. Haha.
RikkuSince I wore Yuusuke for the longest time, my next cosplay wasn’t debuted until summer of 2008. Kairi from Kingdom Hearts I… Or, as I like to say, Chain of Memories Kairi, as I had the hair of Kingdom Hearts II Kairi, but had the first game outfit. I also had stolen Roxas’s/Brookie’s keyblade since I had worn her Roxas outfit once. The tanktops were ones I had lying around the house. The skirt I had found at a thrift store and felt like the gods had been watching me that day for me being able to find it. The belt was also from a thrift store. The purple armband was made from a purple sock. The yellow wristband was made from a cloth dinner mat. The shoes were ones I had also found at a thrift store. I got the choker from Hot Topic and I used it because it was the only black choker I had. I wore two necklaces for the outfit. The first necklace was a Tidus Final Fantasy X necklace, but I got teased, so I switched it out for a heart necklace.
KairiThe latest cosplay I had put together is no longer whole any more… I had a wig for it, but I decided I needed a new one and let my cousin take it to style into a Reno wig. Mitsuru Kirijo from Persona 3 would have to be one of my more painful cosplays. I wore it to Comicon ’09 and nearly died. I also had two variations of the cosplay.
The shirt I used was a white dress shirt I had obtained from a friend and had the stripes that Mitsuru’s shirt has. The skirt was also a piece I had gotten from a friend and I found it worked perfectly. The SEES armband was made from some random red material we found around the house and was pinned to my shirt (I often had to walk around with my hand attached to my hip in order to keep the sleeve from slipping and letting the armband fall around my elbow). The belt, holster, and gun were part of a cop set I got from Party City.
Now, here come the differences. The first variation did not have a wig, had boots with a short heel, and had a wrap of a robe as a bow around the neck. The second variation had a wig, had boots with a very sharp, tall heel (which killed me), and the bow was made of a thin, transparent red material. I wore the first variation to an anime fest and the second version to Comicon ’09.
Mitsuru Kirijo – Version OneMitsuru Kirijo – Version TwoNow… Here are the reasons I cannot wear them:
Sailor Moon – Like I said, I grew out of it and I’m missing almost all the pieces.
Yuusuke Urameshi – Hair issues and it brings back some unwanted memories that I still need to sort over before I can wear it again.
Kairi – I feel like I’ve grown too large for it, in a way. The skirt is beginning to get a little short from me growing. I may debut it again, but I need to make some adjustments, which cannot be pulled overnight.
Mitsuru – Pieces are missing; boots are being borrowed and wig is no longer existing.
I = Fail
But, I’m hoping to get my Haruhi Fujioka cosplay up and running. The people who are supposed to be helping me are being lame, so I might just say !%#@ them and do it myself.
The reason I’m going and talking about all this is because I have made a decision; Along with acting, I want to try and become a professional cosplayer. To do this, I really need to start focusing more on working with cosplay and begin to learn how to sew and such.
Soooo…. Yeah. [/long post]
