;D
Hi hello and how's everyone?
My name is Susan Giralde, and well..erm... *forgot what i was just about to type* *headdesk*....... ^^;;;
I have two kids atm they are 2.5 yrs (girl) and 7 months (boy) well when I think about it my Naval hubby is the 3rd kid. We live in the dirtball area of Arizona called Kingman.
I first saw the CosplayZone peeps (yes the marshmellows) at AnimeVegas in 06 and 07. Seeing their hard work, effort in skits and keeping to character reminds me why I love musicals, theater, and cosplay so much.
I guess you should know im wierd, but...thats okay!
I've been a trumpet player for 14 years and play drums, trombone, guitar, bass and a little piano. I got bored in high school and college thus exploded 1 year of self-study of poetry, 6 years of sign language, choir/Show Choir, Irish dancing, and Theater.
In college I was in many musical classes for all 3 years and Theater for the last year. While in the pit I helped the cast (which was most of my friends) set up and tear everything down and put it all away. As previously mentioned, in theater I auditioned with the "Peaks and the Pollicles" from Cats and was oddly put to being the stage manager, which was a strange outcome but it worked out. I have come to appreciate the backstage people just as much as the on-stage people and their work and understanding of it all.
With my musical experience i've been in front of crowds and on stage for so long that im comfortable being on stage, and am almost finished with a small demo of my weird genre of music.
A cosplayer I am, but only for a few years now and am just starting to learn the tips and tricks of the art called 'sewing'. I bring my kids with me to cons because they love to dress up and enjoy the activities with us. Not to mention......they're hams. This Anizona that just ended was our first full family cosplay and made the con even more fun and amusing than expected. My weaknesses are 1) sleep deprivation from staying up and watching new anime/ getting accurate screenshots of characters, 2) working on my music and 3) cheesecake (totally related right?)
Hanging out with the members of CosplayZone has been sooo much fun, & I look forward to talking with you all.
