Hey everyone~! Here's Aura, shouting out to all my wonderful CosplayZone Ladies (and Gentleman) from out here in Virginia.
Meeting you girls at (interestingly enough) an event at Bookman's has changed my life. I am now actively pursuing a career in Directing and Acting in both cinema and live theatre. If you girls haven't come along, I probably would be applying to med schools and law schools like a good Asian college student. XD
Although you guys do a wonderful job without me, it is my hope and wish to bring to you girls the exciting things I am learning from being in college (yeah, I'm stuck in institutional hell, at least for the time being). I will be leaving for San Diego tomorrow and then will be in town on the 6th of April, so expect my return! ^.^
So...just a little bit about me. I was bit by "the bug" at the age of three and didn't know it then. What sort of bug, you ask? The "Arts bug", of course. ^.^ I've been singing, dancing, and playing the piano since the age of three, and had the distinct pleasure of going to an arts high school geared for the artistically oriented. After graduating with an Instrumental Music, Creative Writing, and a Production and Design triple major (I really had a variety of interests...^.^;, I decided to do the socially-preferred thing and go to college to get a nice 9-5 day job. Probably as a lawyer or something like that.
After attending college for two years, I still had no clue what I wanted to do with my life. All I knew was that I was going to college because they were paying me to go there...but what was I going to do with a college degree?
I took a year off to look for an answer to this question...and due to an interesting series of events, I met the wonderful ladies of CosplayZone. They were immediately open to my enthusiasm in helping them out for the duration of my stay in Arizona, and I had the pleasure of working with the talented and kind-hearted founders, directors, and members of the CosplayZone. This rekindled the desire in me to share my knowledge and art with others, and fostered the love of the creative process again. =)
Unfortunately, I had to return to school to finish up my degree, but now I know what I want to dedicate the rest of my life doing.
I will be working with a company called Independent Feature Project in Phoenix for the summer, so I will be able to help out with any projects while I'm in town, and share with you all what sort of revelations my professors in Theatre have given me here at school. I live to serve. ^.^
And I missed you guys SO MUCH! *mega huggles of doom* XDDD
